Since 1888, the Auxiliary members have been actively involved with St. Joseph’s Center and its programs. Members of the Auxiliary hold seats on the Center’s Boards and many of our committees The Auxiliary engages in fund raising activities to assist the Center in purchasing many needed items including wheelchairs, specially adapted pool chairs and vans. Gifts from the Auxiliary have also been used to help defray the cost of renovating the residents’ living areas in the Main Center and the community homes, and towards the construction of the Adult Day Program Building in Dunmore. Substantial contributions have also been made to the Maternity and Mother/Infant Programs. These enhancements improve the quality of life for all of the adults and children served by St. Joseph’s Center and would be impossible without the assistance of St. Joseph’s Center Auxiliary.

The Auxiliary is always looking for new members—women and men who find fulfillment in helping others. We need people with new ideas and people to serve on committees. We need people who are willing to solicit prizes and food for the festival booths, people who are willing to empty trailers, set up the fairgrounds or man the booths. We are looking for people to help with the auction, to coordinate the holiday tea, to stuff envelopes or to make phone calls. We are looking for people to offer their prayers for our image
