Humbly begun by a group of volunteers over a century ago, St. Joseph’s Center continues to honor the core values of Care, Concern, Compassion and Commitment.
Through pregnancy, family and adoption services; outpatient therapy; and extensive residential and community-based programs for children and adults diagnosed with mental retardation, St. Joseph’s serves hundreds of people throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania on a daily basis.
Mental Retardation/ Developmental Delay Services
Respectful and competent care is available through outpatient therapy, in-home assistance, adult day programs and residential services.
Outpatient Therapy Services
A state-of-the-art therapeutic pool and fully equipped physical, occupational, speech-language, music and recreation therapy facilities enable the Center’s experienced team of professionals to offer comprehensive services under one roof.
Adoption Services
A continuum of service, including home studies, pre-adoption education and counseling, and post-adoption support services, is dedicated to promoting happy and healthy families.
Pregnancy and
Family Services
Non-judgmental support is available in the form of pregnancy and life skills counseling, emergency shelter, transitional housing, and access to baby supplies and furniture.
